Message from the Doctor

Choosing the field of medicine was a natural path for me, as I have inherited the desire to serve patients from my mother. My initial interest in the medical field was liver diseases. However, after years of witnessing the impact of diabetes on my father’s vision, I realized my true calling was in the field of ophthalmology, specifically vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery.

I was fortunate to be chosen as the first female surgical retina fellow at the Scheie Eye Institute at University of Pennsylvania. I particularly enjoy my continued affiliation with Penn through my active teaching of residents and fellows both medical and surgical retina.
